Let it never be said I don’t listen to you. After your amazing comments and votes on my post, Book Cover Help Requested: Perfect Beat, my trusted sidekick cover designer Alex Saskalides of 187Designz went back to the drawing board and came up with a whole bunch of awesome new covers.
You can feast your eyes on these, and vote on your favorite one. I’m also including the most popular ones of the last batch, to make sure you have as wide a choice as possible.
So, how about it? Feel like adding your 2 cents and helping out once again a decidedly undecided fellow author?
* Alex, please don’t take the poll. I know it’s you voting for #9.

I like no. 1. Everything is upfront and I know immediately this book is for writers.

4 & 7 are the best two. 4 probably works the best but you still give too much emphasis to the type, especially the subtitle, which is totally irrelevant with an ebook (it will be in the link title) and far less necessary on the physically book (it will be seen when the reader picks the book up physically, which you want). You want more of the image. The off balance of the typewriter on 7 and the stark colors and better title choice of 4 work well. 4 is probably best because Emotional Beats is a stronger title, the colors more vivid. You give far more emphasis to the image than the type. Perfect Beats is a blander title, with less of an emotional connection to the reader.

That’s why I love your comments!
Perhaps a combination of the two titles might work best: “Emotional Beats – the super-easy way to write with emotion”

I like the colors and the larger font on the tag line of #3 better – but maybe center it like #4

Ah, yes. The off-center positioning does throw one off. Thank you 🙂

Interesting. I’m so far behind with posts, that I have only just seen the earlier cover query. I didn’t get excited by any of them, but these look better and no 3 instantly grabbed my attention, both graphically and because of the title. The others are dryer and come over as flat. The red version of no 3 is less readable and less well balanced and the red implies another kind of book. The blue suggests a cool or controlled look at emotion.

I love your feedback, thank you! Yes, #3 seems to be a clear winner. I was just on the phone with Alex, and we agreed: vox populi, vox Dei…

I had no trouble choosing #3. It provokes interest in a way the typewriter doesn’t. I hovered over #4, but it was too much and too centered. Feelings aren’t “centered” and writing feelings into a story definitely isn’t something centered, a word I’m sort of equating with “easy.” So there you have it. Hope you choose what becomes the most effect cover.

Of all the covers, I think #1 comes closest. It has a bit of color and flair — but my intuition says something is still missing. Not that I’m all that great at selecting book covers — I’m just passing along my first reaction.
How about a bit of heavy metal, some sweaty passionate drum beating. 🙂 (just kidding).
