I recently wrote about Famous Books Which Began As Dreams. I’m continuing on that theme with today’s post, which features an Infographic on sleep found on disturbmenot.co.
Did you know that Napoleon slept only four hours a day or that Leonardo Da Vinci was a polyphasic (“siesta”) sleeper–i.e. he took several naps throughout his day, each lasting between 20 minutes and two hours? In fact, several famous people, from politicians and entertainers to writers and scientists, had bizarre sleeping habits, with many of them fighting insomnia and working through the night.

Perhaps I should start sleeping on Ollie’s bed? I might get some inspiration!
Best wishes, Pete.

LOL – You might be adding me to your infographic soon. My sleep schedule has gotten like theirs, I just have to add the “famous” part to my story now. 🙂

Yes, I am. Enjoyed your infographic. Creative minds don’t have time to sleep, right — too much going on in our brains. Oh, thanks for sharing photos of your vacation, it looked beautiful and extremely relaxing.

I did know that about daVinci. And I can see how that could be beneficial. Thanks for sharing.

It’s interesting how most of them spent so little time sleeping. Except for the dude who slept 20 hours a day. Now, that’s one lucky guy 😀

I think most of our European politicans sleep all over the day, this causes problems we never had before. Lol Thank you for the great overview, Nicholas! Have a nice day! Here, now we have temperatures i know from past visits in Greece. Cant complain. 😉 Michael

Lol–yes, it does seem that way with politicians, doesn’t it?
Yes, I hear that Western Europe is having quite the heatwave. Predictably, we’re enjoying a cooler than normal summer.

Fascinating. Thank you, Nicholas. I’m a light sleeper, so I enjoy imaginary midnight conversations with characters and otherwise think about lots of things. 😀

Very interesting, Nicholas. This post made me think of Nonnie Jules and how little sleep she gets on a regular basis. That puts her up there with the all-time greats!
