This year, the wee one is old enough to understand Santa Claus. I explained that people believe that Santa flies through the world on Christmas Eve, comes through the chimneys, and delivers toys to all the children.
Being her mom’s daughter (Electra’s an economist by training), Natalie’s first reaction was:
And who pays for all those toys?
Her second reaction was:
Who washes his clothes? They must be filthy from all those chimneys. His washing machine must be huuuuge! Wow…
In that light, I give you a hilarious Infographic which shows why Santa Claus has the most dangerous job in the world, courtesy of Piktochart.
Excellent questions. Though I think the answer to the first one is elf magic.

Huh, I’ll have to keep that in mind for next time she asks. But first, I have to introduce her to the Doctor!

That infographic was a hoot – and how clever your young one is to consider the cost- and also – it sounds like you don’t lie to her about Santa – and say some believe or what not?? I know it is a parents choice but we really feel the lie of Santa is wrong

Thank you! Yes, we’ve made a point of never lying to her about anything. Makes for some awkward conversations at times, but it’s worth it 🙂
Merry Christmas!

Apparently, Tardis could be one of them 😀

Do not worry. Santa shares the cookies, etc. with his reindeer, so he doesn’t consume all these calories.
