I came across Bookbird when I was hired by Yves Lummer to work on the website’s content. Bookbird is rapidly becoming a top resource for authors looking for help with writing and self-publishing, with tons of excellent advice covering everything from name generators to calculating your KDP royalty.
So far, I have written 4 guides for him, with at least as many scheduled for December.
- Character Name Generator
- Book Sales Calculator
- Inciting Incident: How to Power Your Story
- Book Genres
Yves has also published a large number of amazing guides that all Indies should check out, such as Amazon KDP: The Definitive Beginner Guide For Authors (2022), How to Price Your Book, and Amazon Book Categories: The Secret Visibility Booster.
Its main offering, though, is its Amazon KDP Book Interior Templates. Perfect for low-content books such as activity, coloring, and even no-content books (think journals, notebooks, and planners), Bookbird boasts the world’s largest library of easy-to-use book interior templates. If you are interested in any of these, you should take advantage of the Black Friday special deal that offers its collection of thousands of templates at a whopping 50% off – $49 instead of $99.
I hope you find the website as cool as I did and that it inspires your writing and publishing. Happy writing!

The Character Name Generator, Book Sales Calculator and Inciting Incident links look great, but see all the site has to offer, via the top right corner 3 line symbol Menu – you might want to bookmark it – https://bookbird.io/

I love Bookbird. I subscribe to Yves’s newsletter, and I am also a member of the Facebook group. He always has a lot of good information on low-content book publishing. I hate how this topic has gotten such a bad rap, so I appreciate when people like Yves offer good, solid information about it, and offer resources. I always use the sales calculator, and have contemplated getting one of his interior packs, but am nervous about using them as-is, as others probably have the same interiors uploaded somewhere on KDP. I may just buy them for my own creative inspiration though!

Like you, I think that low-content books (or, indeed, no-content books) have got an undeserved bad rep. I’m glad that Yves is working on fixing that. I’m buying one of his packs next time he runs a sale 🙂
