Visitors of this blog may remember that today is our anniversary. We went on our first date on October 3rd, 1992, and she’s been suffering life with me ever since.
This year we have something special to celebrate. For once, our latest project doesn’t involve books and computers, but a big belly and a strange creature growing inside. A baby Cthulhu, to judge by the sonogram. ETA is mid-December, so don’t be surprised if I disappear around that time. Baby Cthulhu will have gotten me…

Forget any thought of ‘editing’. I can promise they don’t work, and I’m not even sure they improve the product. The creation ( for which you seem to have been highly congratulated) comes naturally. It’s all been said already, but please accept my congratulations as well. And welcome to the world of parenting. The only advice I can give you is… don’t take any advice. Nothing anyone says now will prepare you for it anyway. It’s a complete roller coaster of a ride, and I’d be lying if I said there weren’t moments when you wondered why you’d done it. But it’s so worth it. Enjoy it all

I remember with our first, a nurse came in, grabbed our son, put him on his stomach and started patting his back. Apparently he was choking. Vic and I looked at each other like, “Oh no. We’re never going to be able to do this!” When we walked out the door, we felt very strange, like, “they’re letting us do this?”
Needless to say, both my kids are alive and happy.

Just visited your video of Natalia eating and found a link to this post. A description of Cthulhu from H.P. Lovecraft’s A Call to Cthulhu: “It seemed to be a sort of monster, or symbol representing a monster, of a form which only a diseased fancy could conceive. If I say that my somewhat extravagant imagination yielded simultaneous pictures of an octopus, a dragon, and a human caricature, I shall not be unfaithful to the spirit of the thing. A pulpy, tentacled head surmounted a grotesque and scaly body with rudimentary wings; but it was the general outline of the whole which made it most shockingly frightful.” On your post of her eating, you compare her to Regan spewing vomit during The Exorcist! Really, Nicholas, it’s frightening enough that she has some resemblance to you. Must you keep comparing her to nightmarish beings? 😉
